How to Join a Table

Find, request, and participate in meaningful conversations that match your expertise.

1. Discover Tables to Join

When you click on the Tables menu, you'll see a list of tables created by other users — each focused on a different topic or skill.

You can use the search bar to explore tables by topic, skills, or description to find the right one to join.

To narrow down your options, use filters to sort tables by:

  • Status: Active, Recent, Upcoming, or Ended
  • Type: Physical location or virtual platforms
  • Platform: Zoom, Google Meet, Jitsi Meet, or Tao Team

2. Login & Complete Your Profile

You need to be logged in to join any table. Here's how the login and verification process works:

  1. Click on the Login button on the homepage.
  2. Enter your email address and verify it with the 6-digit code sent to your inbox.
  3. Once verified, complete your profile by providing:
    • First and Last Name
    • A short Bio — helps hosts decide whether to approve your participation
    • Your LinkedIn URL — for authentic networking and credibility

Your profile is visible to table hosts and plays a key role in whether your join request is approved.

3. Request to Join a Table

In the table listings, you can see the title, date, time, and duration of each session. To join:

  • Click the Reserve button present in the table listing you're interested in.
  • You'll be taken to the Table Details page.
  • Click Join this Table to open the join form.

The join form is pre-filled with the details you entered during profile creation. If your profile isn't complete, you'll be asked to finish it before proceeding.

Tip: Complete your profile once — it will automatically fill all future join forms.

4. Host Review & Approval

After you click Join, your request goes to the table owner for review. The host receives an email and can approve or decline your application.

If approved, you'll gain access to that table and can participate in meaningful professional discussions. You can find all your approved tables under Dashboard → Joined Tables.

If declined, the host may include a short note explaining why. You'll receive that note via email.

5. Managing Your Joined Tables

All your joined tables are listed in your Dashboard. From there, you can:

  • Access ongoing or upcoming tables
  • View host details and other participants
  • Leave a table anytime by clicking Leave Table on its detail page

Leaving a table immediately frees up your spot for someone on the waitlist or for new participants.

6. Claiming Ownership of a Table

Sometimes, a table owner may decide to step away and transfer ownership to another member. When this happens, a Transfer Ownership Request is sent to participants.

If you're part of that table, you'll receive a Claim Ownership invitation. You can accept it to become the new host and start managing that table immediately.

  • Ownership transfers are handled on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Transfers can happen multiple times depending on table activity.
  • Once you become the owner, you gain access to all table management features.
Note: Claiming ownership gives you full control of the table — including participant approvals and overall table management.Be responsible !
